Mama I threw my toy out of the crib! This is a fun new game.

We set up the car track he got for his birthday. How come Lego has figured out how to write clear instructions and most other toy companies have not?

The pool is really for the dog, but of course the boy can’t resist.

First time in the Bumbo chair and she’s loving it.

Our Batgirl clothes from Cassie finally fit!

Using pillows to lift up toys so she can reach them from the Bumbo. Not spoiled at all…

Bouncing the chair super hard with her body was happening constantly (until I turned the camera on, of course).

Remote control truck - awesome bday gift from Michael & Hannah. Super big tires and it goes on/off grass like it’s no big deal.

Loving some “wear me” time with daddy (notice the burp cloth protection across his chest).

We have a bike rider!! He hasn’t been super interested in his big-boy-yellow-bike since we bought it, until we also bought a bike for mommy/daddy to ride. He saw that bike in the garage today and was instantly motivated to practice on his yellow bike. 20~ish minutes of practice with mommy’s help in front of our house (sister graciously sleeping in her stroller) and he’s got it! So off we go to the park!

“Brother, I’m watching you.”

Representing WCU for Uncle Michael.

Full day of bike riding (and reading books) is exhausting!

Boys on bikes, mama & sister bringing up the rear.

She clearly enjoys time at the park.

30+ minutes riding back & forth from sidewalk corner to sidewalk corner on our block. Happy as can be and only stopped when we forced him to come eat dinner. This boy is LOVING his bike & speed & relative freedom. Just five days after his 5th bday.

Ok puppy, you can be on the bed too since fireworks are scary.

Playgroup at our house! So grateful for these friends and how more siblings have kept the group growing.

Proof that Rebecca was there, too.

All that awesome bike riding took a little turn. Too fast down the hill in our park, not real confident using the pedal brakes yet, dragged his toes to slow himself down, & went right over the handlebars. Poor dad was on his own bike, 20 feet behind, watching it happen. Landed right on his chin, popped up immediately screaming & crying. First trip to the ER (pretty sure it won’t be the last). Total damage: 4 stitches in chin, chipped tooth, significant bites on both sides of tongue (this was actually the worst part because he couldn’t eat well for days), abrasion & bruise on knee/hip bone/elbow, and small bruise on forehead from helmet. The helmet definitely did it’s job - small scratches showing where it hit the ground and protected him. The very next day he wanted back on his bike (yay!!) but we had to say no because we needed to replace the helmet. Pretty good story and incredibly strong young man. We’re so proud of him. <3

Just needed a “real life” picture. Sleeping baby, sleeping dog, toys on the floor, nail polish stuff on table, big brother playing video games, stuff all over the counter, laundry piled on the chair.

Even Rebecca is captivated by Mary Poppins Returns. Thanks for Gabriel’s bday gift Pop & Grammie!

Gabriel’s first time feeding Rebecca a bottle.

Sometimes the excitement is just too great and you have to fall asleep wherever you are.

“Oh, too bright!”

I swear she does more than sleep! Her sleepy poses were just especially cute this month.

We had an amazing time at the Butterfly Pavilion with Karla & Jessie! Both kiddos were super brave & held Rosie, the tarantula. Rebecca alternated between playing in the stroller & sleeping. And our picnic lunch was just right to end the day.

She’s awake! And these blocks have been her favorite toy lately. To chase and to eat.

Our local pet store, the Dog Pawlour, where Marmalade also goes for doggie daycare, had a fun community party. So we walked up and had some fun. G rode his bike and this was his first time back on it since his fall (a little over a week after). It was a very hesitant ride, but he did pretty well. When we got home, daddy came out on his bike and he & G got in some good, confidence-building riding.

He’s back at it!

Is it really summer unless we’ve (finally) made s’mores?

First night in her own room & crib! She’s been in the cradle next to our bed until now, a little over 4 months old. But she’s about too big for the cradle, and her rolling over means she’d probably be more comfortable if she actually had room to move/roll. So here we go…

The next morning - life is still good! Hard to tell, but she turned herself 180degrees in the night.

Baby’s first conference! Rebecca came with me to the CO-ASTA Summer Conference and was the best baby ever. She even hung out strapped to my chest, eventually falling asleep, as I presented. I really should have given her co-presenter status so she can start building her CV. :-) It was super fun to have 2 other moms with babies at the conference. We became the baby brigade. #normalizebabiesatconferences

The CO-ASTA conference was down in Denver so when it was over we go to see Michael, Hannah, Savannah for dinner. It was a very fun mini-adventure for me & Rebecca. These cousins are mighty cute!

G really likes taking these pictures and I like remembering “real life.” Nursing R. Photo by G. Real life.

The many faces & interests of Rebecca.

His last day of preK! He’s been at ABC West since we moved to Greeley and he was 2 years old. He’s enjoyed (almost) every moment of the past 3 years with his awesome teachers at ABC and we’re very sad to leave. But of course excited to be going to kindergarten! For now we’re just going to enjoy the last month~ish of summer with him home with mommy & Rebecca.

IMG_4143.JPG

Spoiled.

“Mama, your fun is over. I WILL pull the headbands off now.”

We went to a shopping center near daddy’s office to see “Ralph Breaks the Internet” as part of their summer outdoor movie series. It was a super late night since the movie can’t start until dark and G did surprisingly well! He enjoyed the movie and had a good time eating snacks and staying up late. R had a good time too (hard to go wrong sleeping on daddy).

IMG_4153.JPG

A new favorite toy - the curtains.

G home with us (not at school) means more summer adventures! Today it was a picnic lunch at the playground.

Pop & Grammie know when they send packages the boxes will be enjoyed just as much as the stuff inside.

Four critters on the couch.

Sleeping on daddy IS the best.

The amazing baptism dress Grammie made! Gabriel thinks she’s a princess.

Mama needs to go into school and get some things done, so kiddos come with. Gabriel helped by carrying a violin. He thought it was the best thing ever that he could wear it like a backpack! And then he started playing with the 3D printed violin & bow I have and had a pretty killer bow hold going.

“What work looks like today.”

“I’m so excited I can reach my toes now!”

The puzzle monster has resurfaced.

“What? We’re not doing anything.” (Except being cute.)

Of course mama capitalized on the violin excitement from a couple days ago and G has started violin lessons! He did remarkably well at his first lesson (truly impressive bow hold!). R made things challenging, but eventually conked out in her carrier so mama could teach.

We’re super bummed that Michael, Hannah, & Savannah are moving to Florida, but we’re excited for them! Today mama & kiddos went to their house so mama could be on kid-duty while Michael & Hannah packed. They got lots done and I got to play with cute kiddos all day. Win-win-win.

Rebecca’s baptism. <3 Incredibly grateful that Michael, Hannah, & Savannah could join us. They’re the only family who were able to be at the baptism of both our kiddos and we’re thankful for their love & support.

“Yes mom, I AM big enough for this.”

The puzzles seem to be multiplying…

Just… too… tired…

“What are these things on my feet!? Get them off!”

Everly’s birthday party! So much fun with friends.

Mama’s getting ready for work. “Why’s the baby so quiet? Oh, that’s a good reason.”

The onesie says it all.

“What work looks like today.”

“What? I didn’t do it. Whatever it is, I didn’t do it.”
