How better to start a birthday than with a present?!

Thomas the Tank Engine to ride on!

Nearly all the pictures are blurry because he was just so excited!

Two extra adults who will drop everything when G wants to climb in a lap and read - his heaven. :-)

What's this, hiding in grammie & pop's closet?!? (Thank you, pop, for putting it together last night!)

P.S. Gabriel quickly started calling grandpa "pop" so we went with it. He's still working on what exactly he calls grandma, but it often comes out close to "grammie" so we're trying to make that stick too. :-)

His very first tricycle! With handle for parent-steering-ability too.

Oh boy - he's discovered how the bell works... :-)

But there are still a few presents to go so let's get to it!

His very own train set!

So many pieces to build with, and then add to if it stays a favorite.

And continuing the trend of "firsts" - his first book bag.

A book bag filled with goodies. First, his very own Lumpy, from the Winnie the Pooh and the Heffalump movie (maybe his most favorite movie ever).

And what's a book bag without a few books? Mama & dada decided we needed a shorter version of Jungle Book on hand...

He seems pretty pleased with it too. :-)

A birthday card with Cars on the front? Immediate smiles!

Rosie, "supervising."

Grammie picks out the best clothes! He wasn't a bit hat fan, but within a few days of this, he would request to wear this hat all the time.

Big "thank you" hugs for grammie & pop.

Let the construction begin.

We better check out this new Jungle Book and make sure it includes all the good parts.

A cake with berries for our berry monster!

Berry monster indeed! He reached out and stole a raspberry as soon as it was in reach.

"Dada, I wanted to save some for later!"

Post-presents-and-cake dance party with grammie & dada.

It's the end of the day and it's official - he's Kanga - TWO (years old)! :-)

Since we don't have many friends in Greeley yet, the "party" this year was Gabriel's first trip to the movie theater.

"Finding Dory" was a huge success. And such a cute movie! Glad it was his first. :-) The previews were rather frustrating (he though every one was the movie and didn't understand why they kept ending so quickly) but then he had excellent focus - until we stopped feeding him popcorn. ;-) But we still think he did a great job for his first time at the movies!

For some reason he had to touch all the noses on the sign...

So glad grammie & pop could be with us!

Not surprised this guy crashed on the way home (a whopping 10 minute ride) after such a big adventure.

The shirts were a Father's Day gift. Extra points if you "get it." ;-)

First ride outside on the new bike!

G needed to be able to lie down inside the track so grammie kept revising until there was a track that worked.

Bean business with pop. A Marvin family tradition.
